FINGER LILIES (2020)

A series of four photographic prints

A performative gesture taking the spadix out of Anthurium Lily spathes and replacing them with the middle finger. The stem of the arm and phallic finger spadix housed within the vulvic lily spathe seeks to form a human plant hybrid that portrays the tension in binary gender divisions and the tension in the othering of the plant kingdom.
